One of the toughest sporting events and personal challenges on the planet, the Global Solo Challenge is a sailing race which sends sailors by themselves around the planet, without stopping. Navigating the remote and treacherous waters of the Southern Ocean, the Global Solo Challenge is a classic racing circumvigation which takes sailors around all three of the great capes including the infamous Cape Horn.
Beginning and ending in Vigo, Spain and open to a wide variety of different types of sailboats, the Global Solo Challenge is a unique type of round the world race which incorporates a staggered start format taking place over the course of three months from August to November of 2027.
The second edition of this highly international event, the 2027-28 race promises to be a spectacular event, following the successful first edition which included sixteen starters and seven finishers.
